Founded in 1996 as Penang Medical College (PMC), RUMC proudly holds the distinction of being Malaysia's first accredited private medical university.

RUMC is a collaborative initiative between the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Dublin (UCD), offering students a truly transnational educational experience in a top-tier university in Malaysia for medicine.
