The University campus is set in 700 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds on the edge of Guildford’s historic town centre, and just a 10 minutes’ walk from the rail station and regular trains into central London take just 34 minutes. The University is within easy reach of both Heathrow and Gatwick international airports. Campus development
Multi-million pound investments abound. The Ivy Arts Centre, the Manor Park student village and the Library & Learning Centre all represent major projects, with the School of Veterinary Medicine, the 5G Innovation Centre and the Innovation for Health building the most recent of our campus investments.
Accommodation
University accommodation is guaranteed to ALL international students paying overseas fees for the first year of their studies (subject to deadlines). International students are also invited to apply for University accommodation for their subsequent years of study, although this cannot be guaranteed.
There are over 5000 rooms in 12 ‘courts’ (the halls of residence). All the courts are self-catering and each group of rooms or flat shares a kitchen/dining room. Applicants can choose their preferred band of accommodation and location based on their budget and preferences. Limited single sex accommodation is also available.
Professional training placement
University placement programme is one of the largest in the world, with over 2,300 partner organisations in the UK and overseas. The placement experience provides opportunities for students to put skills into practice and to experience a real working environment. Figures from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) in 2016 reveal that 93% of Surrey’s graduates were in work (or further education) six months after they graduated.
