Value of Award

Full tuition fee scholarships for 2 x Malaysian students applying for entry to a postgraduate taught programme at the University of Birmingham starting September 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Please note that students already registered and studying on a programme at the University of Birmingham in the UK are not eligible for this award.

In order to be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have an excellent academic background. Candidates should have or be expecting a 2.1 in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Have received and accepted an offer for a full-time postgraduate taught programme starting September 2026 at the University of Birmingham (Birmingham campus). The student must be entering the first year of a postgraduate taught programme.
  • Meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme.
  • Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees, living costs, and other expenses not covered by the scholarship.
  • Start their studies at the University in September 2026 (the scholarship award may not be deferred).
  • If a scholarship recipient decides to defer their programme start date to September 2026, they will no longer be eligible as the scholarship is only available for programmes starting in September 2026. 
  • Students seeking to study a course solely delivered as a 'distance learning' or online programme are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Students who are applying for government scholarships are still able to apply for our awards, but if the student does receive a full government scholarship or alternative scholarship award then they are no longer eligible for this scholarship.
  • Postgraduate programmes including MPhil, MRes, MMus and MLit are not eligible. PGDip and PGCert programmes are also not eligible.
  • Be registered with, and have their postgraduate study application attached to the University of Birmingham’s local representatives – MABECS.
  • Submit your scholarship application through MABECS by the deadline; 30 June 2026.
  • Successful recipients of the scholarships must have completed online university registration and be ‘Normally Registered’ by 3 October 2026 (23:59 UK time/ GMT+1). If this is not the case, the university will withdraw the scholarship.
  • Students applying for government scholarships can still apply for our awards, but if they receive a full government or other scholarship, they become ineligible.

How to Apply

  • To apply for the scholarship, students will need to be registered with MABECS, have accepted an offer from the University of Birmingham by the scholarship deadline of 30 June 2026.
  • Prepare and submit a 500-word essay summary on ‘What this scholarship means to you’ to MABECS. 
  • Selection for the award will be based on academic merit and the applicant’s essay. 
  • Only under exceptional circumstances in which the University is unable to choose an awardee based solely on academic merit (for instance, if two candidates have identical grades) will applicants be asked to attend an interview.

Awarding

  • Decisions will be announced in early August 2025 and the scholarships will be awarded upon the students' enrolment in September 2025. Regrettably, owing to the volume of applications received, we will only be contacting those who have been successfully selected. 
  • Scholarships will be awarded based on the eligibility criteria outlined above and according to the application and admission process stated above. The University will make its best endeavours to input the scholarship details onto each student's CAS record for visa application purposes (this 'note' will be visible for the UKVI but not the student).
  • In accepting and securing this scholarship, awardees are expected to support the University and MABECS, to a reasonable extent and for a reasonable period of time, by providing profiles and testimonials, and engaging in ambassadorial activities if requested by the University and/or MABECS.
  • Successful recipients of the scholarships must have completed online university registration and be 'Normally Registered' by 3 October 2025 (23:59 UK time/ GMT+1). If this is not the case, the University will withdraw the scholarship.

University of St Andrews MABECS Postgraduate Taught Scholarships

All in person Postgraduate Taught Master programmes, with the exception of Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science 

VALUE OF AWARD

Full tuition fee scholarships for 2 x Malaysian students applying for entry to a postgraduate taught programme at the University of St Andrews starting September 2026. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Please note that students already registered and studying on a programme at the University of St Andrews in the UK are not eligible for this award.

In order to be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have an excellent academic background. Candidates should have or be expecting a 2.1 in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

University of Warwick MABECS Postgraduate Taught Scholarship

This scholarship is co-funded and made possible through a shared commitment, with equal support from MABECS  and
the University of Warwick

SUBJECT AREA

Any subject offered by the Department of Economics, with the exception of Diploma programmes and MSc courses for more than 1 year. 

VALUE OF AWARD

Full tuition fee scholarships for 1 x Malaysian student applying for entry to a postgraduate taught programme in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick starting September 2026.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Please note that students already registered and studying on a programme at the University of Warwick in the UK are not eligible for this award.

In order to be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have an excellent academic background. Candidates should have or be expecting a 2.1 in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Have received and accepted an offer for a full-time postgraduate taught programme starting September 2026 at the University of Warwick. The student must be entering the first year of a postgraduate taught programme.

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology x MABECS Global Scholarship

SUBJECT AREA

VALUE OF AWARD

9 x NZ$10,000 scholarships to partially cover the tuition fees associated with the study of any full-time Certificate, Diploma, Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Master’s programme at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) starting 2026 or 2027. This is a one-time award. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Please note that students already registered and studying on a programme at NMIT in New Zealand are not eligible for this award.

In order to be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have applied and secured an offer for a course of study of at least 120 credits (one year full-time study) that is available to international students at NMIT through MABECS Global.
  • Be classed by the institution as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees, living costs, and other expenses not covered by the scholarship.
  • Start their studies at NMIT in October 2026, February 2027, July 2027, or October 2027. Please note that October intakes only apply to the Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management and Master of Applied Management.
  • Submit their scholarship application through MABECS Global by the following deadlines:
    • October 2026 intake: 4 July 2026
    • February 2027 intake: 7 November 2026‍
    • July 2027 intake: 3 April 2027‍
    • October 2027 intake: 3 July 2027

MABECS Exclusive Exeter Scholarship

This is an exclusive opportunity for MABECS students, made possible through the stupport and funding of the University of Exeter.

SUBJECT AREA

Eligible undergraduate programmes only (please refer to the University of Exeter's website for the full list of eligible programmes). 

VALUE OF AWARD

£8,000 fee deduction per year of study (up to £24,000 fee deduction over 3 years) for 2 x Malaysian students applying for entry to an undergraduate programme at the University of Exeter starting September 2026. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Please note that students already registered and studying on a programme at the University of Exeter in the UK are not eligible for this award.

In order to be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have an excellent academic background. Candidates should have or be expecting the results of AAB in their A-Level programme or equivalent.
  • Have received and accepted an offer for a full-time undergraduate taught programme starting September 2026 at the University of Exeter. The student must be entering the first year of an undergraduate taught programme.
  • Meet the academic conditions and any other conditions stated in the offer of their programme.
  • Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees, living costs, and other expenses not covered by the scholarship.
  • This scholarship is only valid for students starting in September 2026 intake. If a scholarship recipient decides to defer their programme start date to September 2027, they will no longer be eligible. 
  • Students seeking to study a course solely delivered as a 'distance learning' or online programme are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Must be of Malaysian nationality. 
  • Be registered with, and have your undergraduate study application attached to the University of Exeter’s’ local representatives – MABECS. 
  • Submit their scholarship application through MABECS by the deadline; 30 June 2026.

  • Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees, living costs, and other expenses not covered by the scholarship.
  • Start their studies at the University in September 2026 (the scholarship award may not be deferred).
  • This scholarship is only valid for one year, starting September 2026. If a scholarship recipient decides to defer their programme start date to September 2027, they will no longer be eligible.

  • Be domiciled in Malaysia. 
  • Be registered with, and have your postgraduate study application attached to the University of Glasgow’s’ local representatives – MABECS. 
  • Submit their scholarship application through MABECS by the deadline; 18 May 2026.
  • Successful recipients of the scholarships must have completed online university registration and be ‘Normally Registered’ by the last day of enrolment as determined by the University of Glasgow. If this is not the case, the university will withdraw the scholarship. 
  • Students applying for government scholarships can still apply for our awards, but if they receive a full government or other scholarship, they become ineligible.

HOW TO APPLY

  • To apply for the scholarship, students will need to be registered with MABECS, have accepted an offer from the University of Glasgow by the scholarship deadline of  18 May 2026.
    *Note: There will be a rolling review of applications on a fortnightly basis, until the final deadline for nomination (18 May 2026).
  • MABECS will then nominate suitable candidates and share them to the University of Glasgow for review. 
  • The University of Glasgow will check the nomination, and successful applicants will receive an award notification by the university’s scholarships team. 

AWARDING
